What is ULTRANY® LA1-15μm Low Shrinkage BOPA Film?
ULTRANY ® LA1-15 μm BOPA Film Model is a high-performance coating-grade BOPA film produced through state-of-the-art LISIM technology. This dimensionally stable BOPA film is designed to provide the highest level of shape retention and flatness in both dry and humid environments. This low-shrinkage BOPA film is ideal for applications where the risk of curling or warping may occur due to high-moisture exposure. In addition to providing a reliable food pouch film for boiling solutions up to 100 °C, the structural integrity of this water-boiling packaging substrate also ensures consistent performance under a variety of retort processing conditions. The mechanical properties of ULTRANY ® LA1-15 μm include a tensile strength of 220 MPa in the machine direction and 250 MPa in the transverse direction, as well as a puncture resistance of 10 N to create a durable barrier for all general composite packaging structures. Additionally, this dimensionally stable BOPA film exhibits a heat shrinkage rate of < 2.0 % at 160 ° C (MD) and < 1.5 % at 160 ° C (TD) to ensure precise thermal processing.

In addition to maintaining physical durability, ULTRANY ® LA1-15 μm BOPA film also offers superior processing characteristics. The coating-grade BOPA film can be printed with up to six colours and utilises a single-sided corona treatment to improve ink adhesion. This moisture-resistant nylon film exhibits an oxygen barrier of 50 cc / (·day·atm ), which is necessary to maintain the shelf life of the product contained within the packaging. Due to its large-scale global production of 150,000 tons per year, this food pouch film for boiling is a reliable and economical alternative to more expensive options available to manufacturers who do not require complex registration, yet desire a consistent and reliable water-boiling packaging substrate.
Success Story: Elimination of Unwanted Warping in Ready-to-Eat Meals:
A local manufacturer of ready-to-eat gourmet soups in boil-in-a-bag containers experienced high return rates from customers, resulting from excessive warping of the packaging after being boiled. The manufacturer replaced ULTRANY ® LA1-15 μm with the lower shrinkage BOPA film to take advantage of the improved dimensional stability of the material. After the replacement, the packaging did not warp and maintained its flatness after the boiling process. The improved flatness of the packaging resulted in a 15 % improvement in customer satisfaction ratings and subsequently a 10 % improvement in quarterly sales due to increased inventory purchases from the retailer.

Will ULTRANY® LA1-15μm Low Shrinkage BOPA Film Work for My Application?
How does LA1 compare to LHA for boiling applications?
LA1-15 μm is a specially developed food pouch film for boiling, designed for temperatures up to 100 °C. Although LHA-15 μm can handle higher temperatures up to 135 °C, LA1 provides a cost-efficient water-boiling packaging substrate for most boiling applications with little dimensional change.
Why is dimensional stability important for a coating-grade BOPA film?
Dimensional stability is required for a coating-grade BOPA film so that it remains flat to allow for uniform coating and ink application. The dimensionally stable BOPA film, LA1-15 μm, will prevent curling or warping during moisture exposure, allowing the finished package to maintain a professional and high-quality appearance.
Will this film perform well in humid storage environments?
Yes, LA1-15 μm is a high-performance moisture-resistant nylon film. It has low hygroscopic expansion, which means that the heat-resistant packaging film will maintain its structural integrity and flatness even when exposed to high humidity or moisture.
Can I laminate this food pouch film for boiling on a standard lamination system?
Yes. This Low-Shrinkage BOPA Film is easy to process and is compatible with many lamination configurations. It works smoothly as a water-boiling packaging substrate when laminated with other materials and supports a maximum sealing width of 3 cm.
What are the mechanical limitations of this heat-resistant packaging film?
The mechanical strengths of ULTRANY LA1-15 μm include a tensile strength of 220 MPa (MD) and 250 MPa (TD) and a puncture resistance of 10 N, creating a durable food pouch film for boiling.
How does the printing quality look on this moisture-resistant nylon film?
This coating-grade BOPA film is designed for printing up to 6 colours and has a smooth surface for consistent print quality. It is an ideal dimensionally stable BOPA film for brands that do not require exact registration but desire vibrant and clear packaging.
