ULTRANY® CHA® is a coating-grade BOPA film made using Lisim technology. It is a PA6 coating-based film with 4% haze, 4% haze, and thermal resistance up to 160°C.

What is ULTRANY® CHA® BOPA Film for Functional Coating?

ULTRANY® CHA® is a speciality coating-grade BOPA film produced via the Lisim linear-simultaneous-stretching technology for functional coating applications. This coating-grade BOPA film is designed for high-performance applications requiring high-quality flatness and good isotropic performance. Due to the use of the Lisim process, this oxygen barrier-coating-substrate exhibits a very smooth and even surface, which is necessary for producing high-quality, thin, and defect-free functional layers. The heat-resistant BOPA film for lamination has a wide temperature range and a low heat-shrinkage of <1.8% (MD) at 160°C and thus provides a stable dimensionality during high-intensity drying and retort processes.

 
The smooth and flat BOPA film can serve as a perfect carrier for barrier coatings such as PVDC or alumina, as well as for special anti-fog or UV-barrier-treatments. The PA6 coating-base film has a tensile strength of 220/250 N/mm² (MD/TD) and 10N puncture resistance and therefore provides a robust mechanical protection for complex composite structures. The coating-grade BOPA film additionally increases the retail attractiveness by providing excellent optical properties with a high gloss and a haze value of 4.0%. In addition, the oxygen-transmission-rate of 50 cc/(·day·atm) of the oxygen barrier-coating-substrate guarantees a long-lasting preservation of the content.

A major producer of flexible printed circuit boards (FPCs) experienced problems with surface defects and warping in the past with conventional nylon substrates for insulating coatings.
