With the upgraded biodegradable tape, Changsu plays a role in green and environmental protection

According to data of State Post Bureau, from November 1 to 11, 2023, a total of 5.264 billion express parcels were handled by postal express delivery enterprises, an increase of 23.22%. On that day of Double 11 alone, the number is 639 million.  This massive growth is accompanied by a large number of discarded express packaging plastic waste.

The deputy director of the market supervision department of the State Post Bureau, Lin Hu, said that the Bureau has accelerated the standardization, recycling, reduction and harmlessness of express packaging since the beginning of this year.     It can be seen from the regular press conference of the fourth quarter in 2023 that initial achievement of the green governance on express packaging has been made. In addition, China Post also launched a new fully biodegradable and environmentally protective tape (referred to as “biodegradable tape”) this year.  This tape can directly degrade into water and carbon dioxide under suitable conditions.
