The establishment of national standards such as the First Application Demonstration Catalogue of Key New Materials, Polylactic Acid and Biaxially Stretched Polylactic Acid Film by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also means that it is urgent to accelerate the development of polylactic acid industry. At present, there are more than 40 PLA projects under construction and planning in China, with a total annual capacity of nearly 5 million tons. With the continuous optimization of production costs and the expansion of downstream application fields, the data will grow exponentially.

Polylactic acid can not only be used for injection molding tableware, but also be made into fibers and textile materials. Polylactic acid foam can be used for catering packaging and cushioning materials. BOPLA can be comparable to BOPP in many applications. In addition, polylactic acid can also be used to produce poly lactic acid polyols. Polylactic acid industry has a broad prospect, and its application is extremely extensive.

On September 23, 2022, the Third Polylactic Acid Technology and Downstream Application Forum ended in Changzhou, where more than 200 participants from the upstream and downstream of the polylactic acid industry chain gathered.
