CCTV Praise | Changsu Industry Helps China Post Successfully Develop New Environmental Tape

On June 18, the CCTV news channel “News Studio” reported the latest research and development achievements of China Post’s green packaging laboratory – a new type of fully biodegradable environmental tape. This environmentally friendly tape not only has advantages such as bio based and biodegradable properties, but also has mechanical properties similar to traditional tape. When recycling garbage, under the right conditions, this tape and the carton do not need to be separated, can be directly degraded into water and carbon dioxide, and the cost has been greatly reduced.

Kang Li, the technical director of China Post Green Packaging Laboratory, pointed out the pain point of an old type of environmental tape used before: “Although it has the characteristics of biodegradation, its anti-drop performance is far less than that of traditional tape. The breaking elongation is only 20%~30% of the tape standard requirements, resulting in the firmness level of only 50% when packaging heavy packages, and the cost needs to be increased nearly twice.

In order to solve the above problems of the old environmental tape, China Post Green Packaging Laboratory has recently developed a new type of environmentally friendly and solid biodegradable environmental tape

BiONLY ® has been successfully applied to the new biodegradable environmental tape

China Post Green Packaging Laboratory has newly developed a new type of fully biodegradable environmental tape, which is based on BOPLA (biaxially oriented polylactic acid film), which is independently developed by Changsu Industrial—— BiONLY ® as a substrate, it not only has the advantages of bio based and degradable environmental protection, but also has mechanical properties similar to traditional tape substrates

From the following data, it can be seen that the average elongation at break of BOPLA tape is 113%, which is 4.5 times that of the old degradable tape and is within the 80% -180% range required by the tape standard. In addition, the other physical properties of BOPLA tape meet the standard requirements of the tape. It can be seen that the new type of fully biodegradable environmental tape launched by China Post is an environmental tape comparable to traditional tape.
