Food safety cannot be compromised, and human health needs to be protected at all times.
Xiamen Changsu Industrial Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sinolong Group, has recently made a milestone technological breakthrough by successfully developing an antibacterial BOPA film in the experimental stage in response to the contamination of pathogenic microorganisms in the food distribution process.
The antibacterial BOPA has been certified by SGS. According to the test report, the antibacterial performance of BOPA is excellent against the common G+ and G- Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, with an antibacterial rate of more than 99.9%.
The mechanism of antimicrobial BOPA is that when the antimicrobial agent comes into contact with microorganisms, it relies on Coulombattraction to make the antimicrobial agent firmly adsorbed with the microorganism cells, which in turn disrupts their electrolyte balance, thus causing the microorganism to be killed due to damage to the cell wall, ultimately bringing more safety to consumers.
Currently, there is still a vacant in the global market for antibacterial BOPA. If the product achieves mass production, it will have a wide range of application in food packaging such as fresh food, aquatic products and cold chain area, as well as packaging for daily-use products and packaging for the pharmaceutical industry. Especially under the background of the spreading and repeated COVID-19 and the increasing importance of food safety, antibacterial BOPA will provide new possibilities for safer packaging solutions for the food industry.
In the next step, Xiamen Changsu will adhere to technology and product innovation, continue to increase R&D efforts, join hands with more partners to bring antibacterial BOPA to the market as soon as possible, using technological means to empower the upgrade of flexible packaging functions, and open a new chapter for food safety.
